Bank data is sensitive, so RecProof never takes it.
- It runs entirely inside your browser. The page is locked so it can't connect to the internet, and it even works with Wi-Fi switched off.
- No bank logins, no accounts, nothing stored on our side.
- We'll never ask for statements by email. Pilot sessions use made-up sample data.
- One honest exception: if you email us, we receive what you write (your name, address and message). Please leave bank details out.

- You email us with one line about the software you use and what slows your reconciliations down. No files, no bank details.
- We reply within 2 business days with two or three times for a 20-minute video call.
- On the call you use RecProof on a made-up month while we watch and take notes. Nothing of yours is shared.
- Afterwards we send a short summary of what we learned and what we'll fix. That's it: no sales pitch, nothing to buy.

Do you need my bank login?
Never. RecProof works from the CSV file your bank already lets you download.
Will you see my bank statement?
No. Pilot sessions use made-up sample data, and the tool never sends your files anywhere.
Are you an accountant?
No. A review is a second pair of eyes on your reconciliation, not accounting, tax or legal advice. For those, talk to your CPA.
Which software does it work with?
Any bank statement CSV, plus exports from QuickBooks Online, Xero or a spreadsheet. Excel (.xlsx) files work directly too.
Does it work on a Mac?
Yes. It runs in any modern browser on Windows or Mac, with nothing to install.
Why not just use QuickBooks' own matching?
Use it! RecProof is a second check: it shows why each line matched, flags likely typos and duplicates, and lists exactly what's left, which is useful when the auto-match picked the wrong transaction.
Does RecProof finish my reconciliation?
No. It suggests matches and shows what's left over, with hints about likely mistakes. A reconciliation is only finished when someone has reviewed the matches, explained every leftover line, and recorded the fixes in the books. The Summary says "provisional" until you've reviewed every suggested match. It's an early preview, so always check the result before it goes in a client file.
Can you do the review for me?
Not yet. We'll only offer paid human reviews once a qualified bookkeeper is delivering them. Today you can use the free self-check, or ask for a free pilot session on made-up data.
