Privacy Policy
Effective October 19, 2026
1. The reconciliation tool
When you load a bank statement or a books export, the file is read and processed only inside your browser on your own device. It is not uploaded, stored on a server, or shared. The page's security policy blocks all network connections, so it works even with your internet switched off.
To save you time, the tool remembers a few settings in your own browser's local storage: which columns you picked for a file layout, client names you typed, and description rules. These never leave your device. You can delete them at any time with Clear saved data in the tool, or by clearing your browser's site data.
2. This website
We do not use cookies, analytics, advertising pixels, or third-party trackers. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes basic technical information that every website visit involves, such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
The help chat bubbles on our pages are scripted and run in your browser. Nothing you type in them is sent or stored.
3. If you email us or ask for a pilot session
If you email us (for example, to ask for a pilot session), we receive what you choose to send: usually your name, email address and a description of your question. We use it only to reply and, if you book a pilot session, to arrange it and send you a short follow-up. We keep it only as long as needed for that and for basic business records, then delete it. We never sell it or use it for advertising.
During a pilot session we may take notes about how you used the tool and what was confusing, to improve it. We won't quote you publicly without your permission.
Please don't send bank statements, account numbers or passwords. Pilot sessions use made-up sample data. If you send files anyway, we will delete them unopened.
We don't sell anything yet, so we collect no payment details. If that changes, this policy will be updated first.
4. Sharing
We share personal information only with the service providers needed to run the business (email, hosting, payments, scheduling), or when required by law. We don't sell or rent personal information.
5. Your choices and rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing outtie63@gmail.com. Depending on where you live (for example California), you may have additional rights. We will honor them.
Do Not Track: we don't track visitors across websites, and no third parties track you on our site, so browser "Do Not Track" signals don't change anything here.
6. Children
RecProof is a business tool and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect their information.
7. Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Material changes will be noted on the homepage.
