Terms of Use
Effective October 19, 2026
1. Who we are
RecProof is operated by the RecProof team (Missouri, USA) ("we", "us"). Contact: outtie63@gmail.com.
2. The free tool
You may use the RecProof reconciliation tool free of charge for your own business or your clients' bookkeeping. It runs in your browser and processes your files on your device (see the Privacy Policy).
The tool suggests matches and points out possible mistakes. Suggestions can be wrong, and some lines may be missed. Always review the results, especially matches marked medium or low confidence, before recording anything in your books or giving results to a client.
3. Not professional advice
The tool, our help content and our review service are not accounting, tax, audit or legal advice, and we are not your accountant. For those, consult a qualified professional.
4. Free pilot sessions; no paid services yet
We offer free pilot sessions: a short video call in which you try the tool on made-up sample data and tell us what's missing. Nothing is sold during a pilot, and we don't ask for or look at your own financial records.
We don't currently sell any paid service. If we offer paid reviews in future, their price, scope, who delivers them and any refund terms will be shown clearly before anyone pays, and these terms will be updated first.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use the tool or our services to break the law, to process data you aren't allowed to handle, or to try to disrupt or reverse-engineer our services for harmful purposes.
6. No warranty
The tool is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy. We don't guarantee it will be error-free or uninterrupted.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for losses arising from relying on the tool's suggestions without reviewing them. For the paid review service, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the review in question.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use the tool after a change means you accept the updated terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
